O ver three years ago, we set out to create a catalog that would be cherished by our customers, not just as a visual guide to our brand, but also as a tool and companion, which would deliver our vision of the world of wine into your home. We wanted to share the same excitement that we felt when holding a prized bottle in our hands, while communicating, through these pictures and pages, the passion that we have for each and every wine placed on our shelves. The selection of items that found their way into these pages is something that we took very seriously and spent much of the year building through tasting, traveling, and spending time with our customers. From the vineyards of Rioja and the Ribera del Duero, we brought you an Old World icon on the verge of rediscovery. In the ancient cellars of Tokaj, we've witnessed one of the world's oldest known wines reborn and reimagined, just in time for modern-day tastes to welcome them back into our cellars. In Italy and France, we found that Mother Nature has bestowed upon us some of the greatest vintages in recent memory. Meanwhile, throughout the New World, an entire sea change continues to take place, as the cool-climate revolution of California gains countless fans and the potential of Oregon is fully realized. We believe that this is one of the most thrilling times to be a wine lover and collector, and are truly excited to share all of our discoveries with you through this work—the third Volume of the Morrell Fine Wine and Spirits catalog.
