MORRELL FINE WINE AND SPIRITS Call 800.96.WINES (800.969.4637) • Visit us at morrellwine.com • Complimentary delivery on all orders over $150 in NY and CT 79 The g r and c ru o F l a Morr a o nce ranked among the top three forward-thinking modern winemakers in the region, it should really come as no surprise that Enrico Scavino, along with his daughters Enrica and Elisa, would adapt so well. It also doesn't hurt that he spent the better part of his life acquiring some of the choice vineyards throughout the region. Of those vineyards, it was the prestigious Rocche dell'Annunziata (regarded as one of Barolo's Grand Crus) which Paolo decided to use to create his Barolo Riserva. Made only in the best vintages and in extremely limited quantities, the Rocche dell'Annunziata ranks among the top bottlings vintage after vintage, and as in many of the modern-styled Barolo of decades past, new oak and toast levels have been dialed way back to create a pure, classic expression of these hallowed grounds. ✦ Paolo Scavino Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata Riserva 2010 AG 96 » $175 "Constantly changing in the glass, the 2010 is a model of pure grace and sensuality." (1558233) For T he a ges c astiglione Falletto is known for producing well-balanced Barolos of incredible finesse, intense perfumes, velvety textures and impressive structure. It's also the town where we find the cantina of Cavallotto. Traditional to the core, save for the sparing use of rotary fermenters, and also one of the first producers in Piedmont to employ organic farming, Cavallotto creates textbook examples of Barolo, which today's producers are only now beginning to emulate. It's from the Bricco Boschis vineyard, with vines that average 50 years old, that Cavallotto produces their top wine, the Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe Riserva. Here we find the haunting aromatics, intensity and layered depths of Barolo, all while providing a classic structure wrapped in silky textures. ✦ Cavallotto Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis v igna San Giuseppe 2010 AG 95 » $119 » $255 (1.5L) limited "A dramatic wine...with seemingly never-ending array of aromas, flavors and textures...many nuances that emerge as the 2010 continues to take shape in the glass."
