However, in the case of Laurent Vaillé, he took a chance at carving out his own destiny, and today the wines of Domaine de la Granges are considered icons of the region. With a resume that includes the names of Coche-Dury, Gérard Chave, and Domaine Trévallon, Laurent Vaillé decided to call l'Hérault of the Languedoc his new home. It wasn't easy, as the vineyards had to be cleared by bulldozers and dynamite, yet once complete, his genius was recognized through the fruit that is now produced from these limestone rich soils. The L'Hérault Rouge is a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Counoise.
