Much of their success is derived through a consistent level of excellence displayed year after year, even through the less than ideal vintages. The Brunier family credits the vineyard for their achievements, as they own a large single block of the renowned lieu-dit La Crau. Their deep-rooted vines, at an average age of 55-years old, are protected by a stony top layer and then nurtured through the clay enriched soil beneath. Tradition carries on in the cellar and through to the blend, which for both the rouge and the blanc is a classic mix of Rhone Varieties. If in search of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape for the ages, there's no better option than Vieux Telegraphe. ✦ v ieux Telegraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau 2014 JR 91–93 » $82 "...Intense red and dark berry aromas are complemented by peppery spice...Sappy and precise on the palate...Supple, harmonious tannins build steadily on the very long, seamless finish..."
