MORRELL FINE WINE AND SPIRITS Call 800.96.WINES (800.969.4637) • Visit us at morrellwine.com • Complimentary delivery on all orders over $150 in NY and CT 22 Burgundy Built for the Cellar i t wasn't so long ago that Georges Roumier was a much smaller Domaine, and one that didn't enjoy the renown that it does today. Located in the village of Chambolle- Musigny, the Roumier family began tending vines for the production of wine in 1924, yet it wasn't until 60 years later that all grapes grown throughout their holdings were bottled under the Roumier name. Today, the Domaine is run by Christophe Roumier, who has been paramount to the company's forward momentum, which has placed them in the upper echelon of Burgundy Producers. The Clos de la Bussiere hails from a small monopole holding in Morey St Denis, located just behind the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers. However, here we find a very different soil type, one which is dominated by clay and iron and creates a more rugged and powerful wine than those found in Chambolle. As a result, Bussiere is often difficult to understand in its youth, yet it rewards us for decades in the cellar. ✦ Domaine Georges Roumier Morey St Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussiere 2014 BH 90–92 » $165 "...There is both fine volume and intensity to the punchy flavors... attractive well-balanced and persistent finish." (1306934) t he i mmortal Corton t hree years ago, in support of the Hospices de Beaune charity auction, Morrell purchased a number of special barrels, which had been specifically bottled and labeled with our name. From that group, one wine that has stood out for it's superior quality and future potential, is the Corton Grand Cru Cuvee Charlotte Dumay. The Hospices de Beaune has ownership of over 150 acres of vineyards throughout Burgundy, yet from them all, no other wine is as sumptuously rich and structured as the Corton produced from this location. The Cuvee Charlotte Dumay consists of parcels from both Les Renardes and Les Bressandes, which were vinified by Jacques Lardiere and Frederic Barnier of Louis Jadot. This is a balanced and long-lived rendition of Corton. It's the wine that thrilled us from our first tasting, and continues to be a Morrell favorite to this day. ✦ Hospices de Beaune Corton Grand Cru Cuvee Charlotte Dumay 2012 $120 (750ml) » $250 (1.5L) "Intense with sensual dark-red fruits and savory herbal tones... full of energy with youthfully-lean textures, which seemed longing to burst at the seams...a gorgeous Corton in need of a few years in the cellar." E. Guido (750ml 1304075 / 1.5L 2304075)
