Thought to be the first prestige cuvee created in Champagne, Joseph Krug' vision was to produce a Champagne which would deliver a consistency of excellence with each release. Time is one of the most important factors behind the success of Krug and also what makes them so unique. Five generations of the Krug family have remained true to its founding principles. To this day, sourcing the majority of their fruit from families Krug has worked with for four generations. Fermentation takes place in neutral oak barrels before blending, where reserve wines aged up to 15-years are used to create the final blend. This is followed by secondary fermentation and six years of aging in bottle. The result is one of the most incredible Champagnes you're likely to encounter, year after year. ✦ Krug Grande Cuvee Brut nv wS 97 » $159 "...All about balance and the integration of power and finesse..." (180200) TiMeless elegance c haracterized by style and timeless elegance, the Champagne that Billecart Salmon is most famous for is undoubtedly the Brut Rose. Located in Mareuil-sur- Aÿ, this family-owned property places transparency and precision above all else. The Brut Rose is a blend of 45% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier, with a rich and brawny character which is perfectly offset by lively fruit and freshness. ✦ Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé nv JR 92 » $79 "...High-pitched red berry, orange zest and jasmine aromas, with suave mineral and smoky lees notes adding complexity. Spicy and precise on the palate, showing very good punch to its strawberry and bitter cherry flavors. Opens up smoothly with air and picks up a bitter rhubarb quality that lingers onto the long, tightly focused finish..." (180023)
