P hilip Togni has been making world-class wine in Napa Valley since the 1960s. He is a student of Old World winemaking who has been responsible for creating some of the most monumental wines in Napa Valley history. However, in 1981 he started his own winery at the top of Spring Mountain and never looked back. The Togni family proudly controls every aspect of the winery, from growing the grapes to bottling the wine. The style here is completely unaffected by the trends of Napa today. Instead, Philip Togni creates wines of a classic Napa Valley stature--still rooted in Bordeaux techniques, yet with the depth and focused fruit which Napa Valley has always been capable of. The 2012 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon is not only one of the wines of the vintage, it's also one of the best values. When you consider the market for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon of this caliber, the choice becomes clear. ✦ Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Spring Mountain Napa Valley 2012 $118 per bottle "...energetic, vibrant style that suggests 25-30 years of aging will be a breeze. What a gorgeous wine..." AG 97 (1704169) RecOgniTiOn fOR a naPa Valley icOn There has been a welcome paradigm shift regarding the way people think about Napa Valley Bordeaux blends. What seemed to be a contest in achieving maximum ripeness only fve years ago has now been replaced by a quest for intensity, depth and balance. There have always been a small number of Napa Valley winemakers who maintained this balanced approach, yet seldom received the recognition they deserve—until now. cAlIFORnIA: culT
