In the 1980s, o livier understood that the only way to bring Domaine de Chevalier to its current standing would be through expansion and a complete rethinking of their vineyards. He knew that it would take decades to achieve his final goal. o ver time, he increased the Domaine's holdings from 15 hectares up to its current standing of 45 and replanted along the way to make the best use of each individual terroir. m any will tell you that the vineyards of Chevalier have seen more replanting than any other modern-day Chateaux, and they would probably be right–yet this was the price that had to be paid to create the wine we are enjoying today. Today's Domaine de Chevalier has moved beyond its years of growing pains and younger vines to grow into a Bordeaux of stature, which has changed the way many people think of Graves. o livier's Rouge is often called Burgundian in its alluring depths, yet, it's also remarkably fresh and harmonious. It's a wine that will keep you coming back to the glass over and over again, while also capable of evolving in your cellar for many decades to come. ✦ d omaine de Chevalier Rouge 2015 VM 97 » $74 "One of the stars of the vintage… A marvelously complete wine, the 2015 is racy and silky on the palate, yet also has tremendous freshness." Antonio Galloni (1005306) T H e Qui NT e SS e NT ia L G R a V e S i t has been a long and difficult road for d omaine de Chevalier. However, having arrived at their current level of prestige and quality, as well as the consecutively successful vintages they've enjoyed, it's safe to say that d omaine de Chevalier is the quintessential Graves. i n fact, after Château Haut- Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, they easily rank as the most respected producer in the appellation.
