volume 4 | 2018 T he world of wine is in a constant state of evolution. As regions rise and fall over decades, great vintages come and go, modernization becomes tradition, and producers find new paths. It's because of these changes that the buying team at morrell always has our ear to the ground, talking with winemakers, tasting across all categories and traveling around the world. The only way to grasp this constant change is to stay ahead of the curve in order to provide our customers with a vast selection of the world's greatest wines. This year brought us to Bordeaux, tasting new vintages and old, and touring the vineyards and cellars of the top Chateaux, as well as the under-the-radar garagistes. We also returned to Italy, to witness a widespread phenomena of next-generation winemakers coming to grips with tradition, while looking to the future and arriving at an entirely new level of quality. In oregon, we tasted through a series of exciting new vintages and met with the region's producers, both new and old, who have placed a renewed importance on terroir and continue to push the envelope with the production of world-class Chardonnay. Now in its fourth volume, the 2018 morrell Catalog is a combination of the insights we've gained, the experiences that have helped us form our opinions on vintages and producers, and a collection of our favorites wines, rarities and collectibles from around the world. We invite you to join us on the journey through each and every page.
