Born in the town of Rothes, James grew up with a love for fine whisky, yet craved something lighter and fruitier. With that in mind and an eye on the future, he began work on his new Speyside distillery, which was a modern marvel. However, it was James' principles which guided him to fulfill his dream, and continue to guide The Glenrothes to this very day.
