He is also a believer in the benefits of whole-cluster fermentation and a truly minimalist philosophy, allowing each wine to express vintage character and the natural endowments of its fruit. In 2014, Jamie turned out a lineup of fruit-intense Pinots of amazing muscularity and class. Yet, we believe it is the m cDougall Ranch that came out ahead of the pack. At an elevation over 935 feet, m cDougall Ranch produces fruit of remarkable intensity and depth. The result is a dark, elegant and complex wine, yet poised like a clenched fist, and showing all the natural beauty of its cool-climate origins. ✦ Kutch Pinot Noir Mc d ougall Ranch 2014 VM 93 » $65 "...The richest and most intense... the most satisfying...all the elements are very nicely woven together."
