From that vantage point, he watched today's Napa v alley grow up around him, as well as the soaring popularity of high elevation vineyards. Today, Pritchard Hill, considered a "Grand Cru" of the region, is tended through strict organic practices. The style is not of the rich, ripe giants of the valley, nor is it over-restrained. Instead, they aim for balance and elegance, a wine that exudes class, and one that will only improve with maturity. It's easy to see why Chappellet's Pritchard Hill Cabernet ranks among the elite wines of Napa v alley, and yet the price remains remarkably fair. It's the product of place, and the family that calls that place home. ✦ Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill2014 VM 99 » $235 "...A classic structure that harks back to the great Chappellets of the 1970s. Savory. What length. Will improve with many years, but it's still a dream to drink now." Antonio Galloni (1704505) a dYN a STY Re BORN W ith two generations of winemakers at his back and four decades of winemaking experience under his belt, Tim m ondavi set out to continue a legacy in family winemaking. From their vineyards on Pritchard Hill, Tim, along with the next generation, produces Continuum. This was never an attempt to recreate the wines of his father or grandfather. In fact, when the time came to seek out a location to produce Continuum, Tim knew that it had to be from higher altitude fruit, specifically planted in volcanic soils. The result is a wine that has managed to grow its stature right along with the current tastes of wine-lovers around the world. This mountainside Cabernet benefits from cooling altitudes of 1300 - 1600 feet, and complex soils, which impart layers of depth beneath the wine's rich and concentrated fruit. This balancing act of tension, precision and richness is what makes Continuum a wine for the table or the cellar, and a collectible in every sense of the word. ✦ Continuum Proprietary Red Napa 2014 VM 97 » $225 "... In recent years Tim and Marcia Mondavi, along with their family, have taken their wines into the realm of the elite." Antonio Galloni (1703262)
