However, it was to a thirty- eight year old mother and family who believed that their days of providing for a child were over. So it was that the Pommery family started a new business in the Champagne trade. The success of the company was inspired by baby l ouise, and was run entirely by her mother following her father's untimely death. o ver the next 100 hundred years the Pommery family continued to grow, acquiring Grand Cru vineyards, and in 1979 it was decided that a prestige bottling should be created to celebrate their storied past. Cuvee l ouise was born, a blend of Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant and Pinot Noir from Aÿ, all grown within Grand Cru vineyards and finished with a low dosage to communicate the purity of terroir and the Pommery style. ✦ Pommery Cuvee Louise 2002 JS 94 » $95 "...beautifully seductive...nicely orchestrated and balanced; it builds in stages...driving acidity, good depth and concentration." James Suckling (1809026) a S TORY W ORTH Te LL i NG The story behind Pommery and their prestige bottling, Cuvee Louise, is one that is seldom heard in Champagne, yet one that inspired the brand to maintain a continued level of excellence vintage after vintage. Temperature, Humidity, and Lack of Vibration– Only in perfect unison will todays collectible mature into tomorrow's Treasure.
