Fast forward to recent times and the name Araujo, a brand that made its own mark on Napa History with e isele fruit. It was a mark so strong that the owners of the renowned Chateau l atour bought the brand and the vineyard–renaming it e isele v ineyards. Here's where the plot thickens. Years ago, when the name Araujo was still on the label, the second wine of the property, made from purchased fruit, was named Altagracia, after Bart Araujo's grandmother. It gained its own renown from quality fruit sourcing and the talent of the same winemaking team of the estate's flagship wine. However, the l atour team chose to make a bold move. Going forward, they decided to source the majority of Altagracia from the eastern parcels of the e isele vineyard that had made the Araujo brand famous, with only a small portion of purchased fruit from vineyards that they control.
